We are grateful to see that you would recommend REI to others and are happy to hear that you gained a better understanding of government operations that appears to be valuable to you in your own professional journey. We desire to leave people better than we found them and we trust that was true for you!
At the same time, we are disappointed to see that your experience also fell short in other areas. Schedules and working relationships are issues that function at the smaller team levels, so we encourage team members to establish strong lines of communication both with direct managers as well as next level managers as we work to sustain more effective dynamics. Equity and belonging, on the other hand, also have more organization-wide implications and so we encourage people to also be transparent with leaders at all levels as well as with our HR team.
