Pros

Love the opportunities to reach people and share the gifts of Hope & Love When you are blessed to find "your people" among coworkers a family is born & you can build lifelong friendships Company has a great reputation in our community - left from founders & original (ALL PEER) leaders' vision Several Programs, Positions & Different services provided to participants Never...Ever a dull moment, a good place to get your first 2 years of FT experience in The Field if you can make it that long.

Cons

Once a RECOVERY FIRST Organization has NOW become a CEO & his Pets/Pet Projects First Organization. The Original Leadership Teams were made up of Boss's who were all PEERS - promoted within...Now Peers have the Direct Service & lower paying jobs while all of the CORPORATE CONNECTIONS David Covington made prior to his coup at RI have taken all of the Senior/Director/RSA positions ...with a few exceptions...Amazing Peers who've stayed in their leadership positions & rolled with the changes & one particular RSA that only has a job so the company can flash him around like a mascot - "see, he's an RSA because of our Amazing programs - he's no longer a homeless junkie" too bad he was so busy sucking up to management that he ended up losing the contract for the very program that helped him so much. The Downtown campus was once a place where you could almost FEEL the Recovery in the air when you stepped in the courtyard. Participants needed only ride the elevator to the top & ask the receptionist if he/she could speak to the CEO or Director for a minute & they were greeted warmly or given an appointment. Now all of the corporate cogs are hiding behind their heavily locked & autoclosed doors - as physically untouchable as they are personally or professionally for the lower ranked peers who actually DO the WORK the "Shirts" are flying around the globe selling to anyone who will give them an audience. HR is supposed to "protect" it's employees at every level. THAT is a joke at RI, they know that their big MONEY comes from Peer Support Training Classes - they cut it from 6 weeks to 2 so they could cram so many more into the year - not to mention the multiple Teachers - HR KNOWS they don't have to investigate any complaints about supervisors (with high end college degrees & years of experience who are hard to replace) because if a RECOVERY Coach, Wellness Coach or BHT needs replaced there's a brand new batch of graduates applying for everything open in a week or 2....perfect set up for HR & thus the entire infrastructure of the company -in Phoenix at least to be completely Top Heavy, dysfunctional & always about The Almighty Dollar & WHO You KNOW....RUNNNNN!!!!

Pros

Schedule, pay, and most of the teammates are good to work with. Can do what you want if you show up for work or even if you don't. Get to really help someone and have an impact on their life every now and then.

Cons

Bad leadership from the top down. No enforcement of policies and procedures other than the RI way which means almost no one gets turned away no matter how problematic they may be. Employees not held accountable for being late, missing work, not doing there job, etc. No room for advancement that's worth it. Most clients view it as a shelter.
