Pros

Might be different depending on which college you TA for and on your lab instructor. Had a sweet grad student as mine and she was always understanding and made expectations clear.

Cons

Department chair was not always clear about what they wanted. I recall being drilled on a particular lab to "test" if I really understood the material.
