Is this your company?

Would love to stay at the institution, but need opportunities for growth and positions to grow into. - Assistant Director RIT (Rochester Institute of Technology) Employee Review

Pros

Great contribution to retirement, unlimited sick time when salaried, nice gym and good wellness classes. Some departments are moving towards more flexible work schedules and trailing working from home and 4 day work weeks.

Cons

Difficulty finding opportunities for advancement. Those at the top seem comfortable never leaving so there is a stalemate and everyone gets stuck. While HR empowers managers to work with employees to figure out their work schedule and working from home or flex time, it's completely manager and department specific. So if your manager is flexible but their manager is not you are out of luck. Also, negotiating on salary can get you almost no where if the manager and their reporting line don't feel like it. There are vast inconsistencies between department and divisions on campus in many areas.
