Pros

RIT has the resources to hire graduate students. The hourly work generally helps make ends meet.

Cons

A lot of red tape and forms. Be careful if you're extremely dependent on the hourly salary—RIT usually forgets to "rehire" or shuffle paperwork around the beginning and end of semesters, which means you may lose a week or two of income just because you don't have a number, or a form, or a barcode, or some other administrative puzzle piece.
