Pros

Still has passionate students and a strong co-op program. Home to creative events (Imagine RIT). Industry goodwill.

Cons

RIT was a student-centric university, now trying to be research-centric. This is not a straightforward transition – the older faculty are fish out of water, and most new faculty who come in, leave as soon as they can. Admin have *no idea* what they need or reward. This leads to a lot of stress if you work here. You are also likely to be gaslighted / given false promises. And the pay, support etc. are very poor.
