Pros
You will learn quickly if you are cut out for sales, in particular outside sales. The benefits are good and the work/life balance is excellent. The equipment vendors go out of their way to help you and get answers to any questions one might have about equipment, compatibility, etc. Branch managers sincerely care about the well-being of their team, not just the numbers they produce.
Cons
Corporate (Nashville) does not have a firm grasp on territories outside of Middle Tennessee. Commissions continue to decrease and quotas significantly increase every year (when is an unrealistic number set?). Equipment is priced highest in the market which makes it virtually impossible to win a bit situation, especially in smaller towns with smaller budgets. There is zero training. For the first few weeks, I had new hires constantly asking "what am I supposed to be doing right now?" The vehicle/gas allowance is a joke, and has not changed in many years.
