Pros
Stable and well-run company. Win-as-a-team attitude, with a lot of cross-functional collaboration between departments. Purposeful effort placed on nurturing a good culture. Leadership seems very invested in the people. Awesome culture to be a part of!
Cons
Leadership still seems to have some outdated opinions around remote work, but RLI already has a size-able remote work force and continues to hire remote workers, so messaging from leadership is a little confusing. General preference seems to be in-office, especially if located near a physical hub (which is totally fine!), but the engrained bias toward in-office seems to detract from our potential to purposely evolve, grow, and welcome talent wherever we can find it, so we can remain innovative. All that said, RLI has a great culture for a reason, and I can certainly understand some hesitancy in making big, sudden changes that could negatively impact that. I wouldn't want that. I appreciate a thoughtful approach rather than making sweeping changes just because of what other companies are doing. RLI should collectively do what is right to preserve its stability, culture *and* its innovative edge.
