Pros

All of the reviews you read here are spot on. I've been with the company for a few months and it's been nothing short of spectacular. I didn't realize companies like this still existed. A few highlights: 1. They truly do care for each employee and their well-being 2. Benefits are phenomenal 3. All teams are trying to move the needle to help one another - IT has been a joy to work with (that doesn't happen often) 4. Leadership trusts their employees to work remotely (THANK YOU) 5. Culture of inclusion and transparency; everyone has a voice - VP's on up act like any other employee; rank doesn't matter. No arrogance or superiority here! 6. Huge emphasis on data and modernizing the stack which will lead to better insights as the competitive landscape grows.

Cons

Not really a con but keep focus on modernizing the tech stack. This will help us to be a differentiator down the road. The modernization projects add to workloads but I feel leadership is mindful of it. It's a fine balance for both the company and the employee.

Pros

RLI has a strong employee-ownership culture and a work environment where people are trusted to take ownership of what they do. The company is relatively flat, which gives employees visibility, access to leadership, and a better understanding of how their work affects the broader organization. Senior management is approachable in a way I have not experienced at other companies, and there is a real effort to listen to employee feedback through direct conversations, exit interviews, and companywide surveys. I also appreciate working with people who care about doing their jobs well and understand that their performance and conduct affect the company as a whole. For employees who are self-starters, think strategically, and take pride in their work, RLI can be a very positive place to build a career.

Cons

Because RLI is relatively flat and gives people a lot of ownership, it may not be the best fit for someone who wants a highly structured environment, frequent direction, or a clearly mapped career path at every step. Advancement and development often require self-advocacy, patience, resourcefulness, and a willingness to look for opportunities rather than waiting for them to be handed to you. That is not necessarily a negative, but it can be an adjustment depending on what type of environment someone is used to.
