Pros

Flexible hours and casual dress code are nice to have. The company is very risk adverse so it is a stable job.

Cons

Compared to other software companies the culture is rather pedestrian. There is a few corporate events a year and a few celebratory lunches but beyond that it is a typical office job. That said, there are far worse environments to be in as a developer, just don't expect the best at RPM. The executives are very risk adverse, which is a positive in terms of job security but a negative in terms of progress. The unspoken motto is that if it works don't change it. Which leads to things like poor code never being fixed and outdated tools never being retired. Furthermore executive decisions are often driven by immediate savings versus long term investment. This can be frustrating to folks on the ground floor as it seems that the executives are in a different world. RPM does not pay top dollar. Some gripe about this but RPM can hardly be blamed for not paying top dollar. They are not competing for top talent, so they don't need to pay top talent dollar. So while the salary is not amazing that is ultimately a non-issue. If you don't like it: go elsewhere.
