Pros
I am with RS for many years...the main reasons for me to stay is the people in RS - the colleagues that I made over the year - it is a friendly environment where the staff help one another when we have issues. But thing has changed dramatically - see "Cons" section. Not sure how long more will I last.....and I am looking for opportunity elsewhere
Cons
But after the recent globalization effort (actually most of us got cons as it is actually - centralization to UK) the organization structure has been changed. And there are no clear direction of how people should work together after "globalization". The APAC based staff are encourage to engage UK/Europe colleague but UK/Europe are not interested as it is "centralization" to them instead of globalization hence no need to engage APAC folk All direction/decision are made in the UK and APAC employee are expected to take instruction without any questions...else their days are numbered. Not to bad mouth this company but if you are the forward looking and ambitious person, stay far far away else you will be hugely disappointed! On the contrary, if you are laid back, happy to take instruction instead of making decision, RS is your company - make sure you are a good apple polisher too and you may go far but you will still need to report to someone in the UK - it is like when the British colonized Malaya period
