Pros

Seems great at first. They offer a lot of "training" but it is all a one size fits all mentality. They aren't really open to exceptions to anything...just one way or the highway approach. You will end up screwed over if you disagree with them on anything or voice true concerns.

Cons

Full of it. Different situations based on where you are in the country, but all bs. They do what they want to do. It can be 1 minute into the new quarter, and they are all about telling you how you are behind. I watched a higher up yell and belittle an employee for taking 2 apples instead of 1 during training. Who does that? If they want you gone, you will be gone one way or another to bring in someone that works more or fits better in the geographical location they want. Turnover rate is high, and that is for a reason. I felt betrayed by this company. I gave them a lot of me for 3 years only to be screwed over when they wanted more from me than what I could give.

Pros

Colleagues were usually respectful, hardworking, and competent. Pre-Covid, the RTP campus was a vibrant and collaborative working environment. Some of the (mostly Federal) contracts provided for interesting research and work.

Cons

Perhaps put too many eggs in USAID contract and Federal social sciences baskets. Org's strength used to be hard sciences. RTI's strength was its organizational culture which was severely undermined by the decision to allow almost anyone to work remotely Upper management bends too much to a vocal and political few, helping to sour an excellent working environment. Many faithful and valuable employees now distrust senior management.
