Pros
The people - I've only been here for just under 2 months and I'm already certain that this is the greatest group of people I've ever worked with. Everyone is intelligent, hardworking, and extremely friendly. There are no egos here. There is no one who will cut you down to try to build themselves up and impress management. Everyone is willing and ready to share any knowledge they have and help you in any way they can. The environment - No cubicles, free snacks, somewhat flexible work hours, fun team-building activities, good people, what more could you want? The organization - No endless layers of corporate hierarchy and bureaucracy to slow down work and take credit for your accomplishments. You'll be able to work with cutting-edge technologies without having to beg the half dozen managers above you for permission.
Cons
I can only really think of two, maybe three cons for working at RTS. 1. You won't get much hand-holding. If you're not motivated to get things done, you won't succeed here. But, really, wouldn't you rather a true sense of accomplishment than someone who tells you exactly what to do every day? 2. Working here may ruin you for any future jobs in corporate America - If you're cut out for the work, the environment is seriously great and you'll never want to see the inside of a cubicle again. 3. If you're the type of person who needs to climb the corporate ladder, you'll be greatly disappointed. Here, there really is no ladder. But that doesn't mean you won't get compensated for the quality of work that you do - just that you may not end up with a fancy title, corner office and a group of subordinates to boss around. But, having no ladder isn't a bad thing. With 'no ladder' there's not 10 people above you on a hierarchy chart that will be able to take credit for the good work you do.
