Pros
* Benefits are pretty solid although the company benefits hotline is a pain to call * Holiday and PTO are pretty good with 3 weeks up front and end of year holiday in addition * A lot of sites work 9/80s if you’re a fan of that * Pretty much a steady pay increase of 3% per year * Easier interview process than tech companies * Will pay for your relocation
Cons
* Pay is exceptionally below market value for early career positions * Every site has its own personality and depending which one you work at will make your work life very different * Poor management structure where many section “leaders” do not know or help in any way * Limited growth opportunity, the pace of promotion is so slow you’re better off going to a different company for a promotion * A lot of niche projects that require languages and tools you wouldn’t use at any other company, you could get lucky or very unlucky in this regard
