Pros

Job security is pretty great! The people are awesome, and they are really easy going. You get to learn a lot and get thrown into many different tasks that may or may not be in your field! It offers great opportunities for growth!

Cons

They don’t really know what they’re hiring you for. I got hired for a specific role that I asked the manager to confirm over 10 times before making the move, and when orientation day came, I was placed in a completely different group in a completely different building than I was told I was gonna work with. This seems to be a common story even with employees with over 15yrs of experience. While RTX does offer good opportunities for personal growth. It does a HORRIBLE job at retention. Some of its major flaws at retaining the employees could be resolved with a little more consideration on the raise. You will be working 5+ years in the company and training entry level new hires that will be making more than you and that’s very discouraging. Also red tape, it takes forever to get things done because of all the hands things have to go through.

Pros

I worked at Raytheon for over 4 years and had a great experience. The company provided many learning and growth opportunities. I was promoted twice during my tenure with the company, and my responsibility increased significantly. I felt like my management supported me and provided me with the career mentorship that I was seeking. I felt empowered and respected during my time there.

Cons

It can be difficult to work at such a large defense contractor company because of all the process and red tape. Things can move slowly, you have to be patient and pick your battles. That being said, if you learn how to work within the system, you can make a significant impact here!
