Pros
It's a large company so you can work across different programs if management allows it No expectations for early career employees. Functional leadership expects you to learn and develop skills but otherwise you can coast with a decent paying job. I can't imagine another company with better work life balance (for early career engineers only, senior people have responsibilities and can vary from 40 hour weeks to way more) Many amazing senior engineers, SMEs, and program leaders to learn from
Cons
Easy to stagnate in position. Your work can be boring depending on the program you are assigned to. Even in high paced, new technology programs it can be easy to get lost in a workforce of dozens of engineers and have no idea what to do. There is a low floor that you have to probably work to somehow miss target performance, but also good performance is not necessarily rewarded with pay rises or promotions. I know more people who get insane salary increases by leaving (maybe an industry issue) than by staying. Yet every quarterly meeting they say retention is an issue and that their salaries are still competitive You can walk inside any building and are guaranteed to hear people talking about other jobs (outside the company). Seems that many people see positions as a stepping stone rather than a career within the company
