Pros

Good company with big projects

Cons

Avoid Swindon back office, it is a locals lobby. Working at back office was a challenging experience, primarily due to the relentless micromanagement that permeated every aspect of the job. It was disheartening to witness a company and specially team leaders suffocate its employees' creativity and autonomy. From day one, it became apparent that individuality and independent thinking were discouraged. The constant need for approval and oversight stifled any opportunity for personal growth. It felt as though our every move was scrutinized, leaving no room for personal initiative or decision-making. The lack of trust exhibited by the management was palpable. Instead of fostering an environment of collaboration and empowerment, there was an excessive focus on minute details and an obsession with control. This not only undermined morale but also hindered productivity, as employees were discouraged from taking ownership of their work. Additionally, some team leaders' micromanagement at back office resulted in many colleagues leave. The incessant monitoring and unreasonable expectations led to increased stress levels among the team. It became increasingly difficult to maintain motivation and enthusiasm in such an oppressive atmosphere. Instead of fostering a supportive and collaborative atmosphere, there was an atmosphere of fear and constant belittlement. I hope that RWE recognizes the detrimental effects of micromanagement and reevaluates its approach in order to cultivate a more empowering and collaborative work environment but last but not least ensure team leaders have taken necessary training for managing people Equally in a Corporate environment.

Pros

Benefits, and company culture but it was really legacy coned employees who made it worth it.

Cons

Worst run company I’ve ever experienced working for. CEO Andrew Flanagan has to go down as by far the worst ceo in corporate America. The entire executive leadership team is trash. Andrew is a horrible communicator. Not only can he actually not talk and articulate well but his messaging changed constantly. The company did a massive cap ex investment into renewables only to be caught with their pants down when the political arena flipped. They got out of energy service business that was in gas and thermal power management along with other power sources. Business generated 70mm on sub 10mm overhead. Imagine that? On top of that when the renewable push turned out to be a complete dud they looked to diversify with gas. What a bunch of losers.
