Pros
- decent vacation (6 weeks after three years, including holidays) - incredible 401k benefits (15% no match required) - bereavement leave (3 days)
Cons
- no holidays or sick leave--everything comes out of the same 6-week bucket - no maternity/paternity leave - frequent asks for volunteers to help with random tasks--volunteers because the company really doesn't want to pay overhead, even if it's a task that really should be paid (e.g. moving tables, chairs) - path forward in the company was never very clear - no real technical mentorship - low pay--after three years working there, I was still thousands under what new grads in my field make; I fought for a raise and got it, but when I left the company I got a 60% raise
