Pros
When I first joined RP, it was a fun job, with direct access to the management team and decisions were made relatively quickly. At first there was no penalty for making mistakes
Cons
Decisions now take forever to get made and there are several layers between my position and the decision makers The amount of work that we have to do is daunting. The workload is caused primarily by the lack of tools we have for managing the business along with lack of clarity regarding who makes the decisions The management team is very sensitive to any escalations to the point that I simply don't escalate anymore I would hope that someone, somewhere has a handle on how the titles are alloted. There are more VP's in this organization than any one I have worked with in the past. It appears that there are no guidelines regarding "span of control" and many leaders have very few people reporting to them (1-2 in some cases) We are a very large practice that is being run essentially via Excel Spreadsheets.
