Pros

YLG has been a great place of employment for me and many others. As many others have said in their reviews, Management promotes growth within the company and offers different training opportunities for those who are willing to take them. Perks of working in the travel industry, you get to travel! YLG provides annual FAM trip opportunities where the entire company can take one of the trips that we offer. It’s a great way to meet co-workers in other offices and experience destinations you my never have been able to otherwise. The company is constantly ahead of the curve and looking for new ways to improve themselves, the technology, the working environment etc. This is especially evident with the current COVID environment where all employees are required to work from home. I have never seen a company have such a smooth and positive transition. If anything, the COVID situation has made all the employees and management stronger together. Overall, I truly believe this is a great place to work for those who are looking to invest themselves in a company that is ready to invest in them back. I am so proud to be part of this team.

Cons

The fast-paced work environment is not for everyone but for those who can embrace it and learn from it really do succeed.

Thank you very much for your comments and kind words about your experience with YLG. We are extremely happy know that our efforts during this difficult time with COVID-19 have been impactful. YLG is proud to have the team we have today and how we are able to promote so many from within. We are able to do so by offering cross-training opportunities. We encourage our employees to express their interests and aspirations so management can set goals to help achieve them. Familiarization Trips is certainly one of many benefits that we are proud to offer at YLG. This allows employees to see first-hand what our customers experience and find ways how we can make it even better! So much knowledge is gained from our employees traveling on the trips our customers take. We are very lucky to have a large group of leaders at YLG that continuously evaluate and collaborate how to stay ahead of the curve, as you said. As you stated, the fast-paced work environment is not for everyone. The company, even pre-COVID, is always and adapting and growing, which means no day is ever the same. Our customers are most important to us and must evolve to match their needs. Thank you again for your review and for being valuable part of our team! Pros

First and foremost, the people at RBG are what make it such a great place to work. The team is passionate, supportive, and genuinely enjoys what they do. Everyone works hard, but there's also a strong culture of having fun and celebrating successes together. RBG does an excellent job of fostering a collaborative, team-oriented environment. Even though we work remotely, which is another fantastic perk, there are plenty of opportunities to connect with colleagues through clubs like cooking, running, gaming, and more. These groups make it easy to build relationships with team members across the organization. And, of course, working in the travel industry is an exciting bonus. Being part of a company that helps create memorable travel experiences makes the work even more rewarding.

Cons

If fast-paced is not for you, RBG may not be your best fit.

Pros

Remote. Hourly + Commission. Health Benefits.

Cons

High performance metrics were not the primary factor in employment decisions. Leadership communication was inconsistent and lacked transparency. Policies prioritizing customer satisfaction leaves you feeling undervalued and used. Rapid operational changes occasionally impacted team stability. Goals and priorities were sometimes ambiguous and would change suddenly without explanation. Organizational changes created confusion and conflict to the work culture. Inconsistent enforcement of policies and standards. Constant increase to work load with no additional scheduled time to complete new assigned tasks. Management is mostly comprised of individuals who failed as successful Account Executives but got moved up to management. They impose unrealistic expectations that they themselves couldn't keep. You aren't just selling Rail Vacations you are teaching customers about how train travel works on the phone, this leads to very long phone calls and over time. Website pricing is misleading which leads to a lot of mad customers calling in taking it out of the people that answer the phones. Mandatory weekends, and monthly changes to schedule with only 2 weeks notice which leads to a bad work/life balance.
