Pros

a lot of good people here

Cons

The higher ups only care about looking good to clients. Since the pandemic hit, more people have been asking “how much worse can it get?” and keep being surprised by the answer. This place is the trump-campaign of tech companies… higher ups think they’re doing a great job (they tell us they are) and they won’t hear a single bad thing about the place. A company this size and no leadership, no HR, people are realizing things aren’t good or normal here, and people are jumping ship. We aren’t a tech company, we are a bored millionaire’s project.

Pros

- Relaxed, calm and creative environment to learn new technologies and expand your knowledge and expertise - Modern tech stack with smart, thoughtful and wise senior developers - Soft deadline approach gives developers ample time to do the best work they possibly can do without feeling much stress and pressure from management - Great company to start out as a junior developer or a developer that wants to ride out their career until retirement

Cons

Although there are many pros to working at rational, no company is perfect. There have been many closed door conversations from management that senior developers are not included in. There have been multiple "uprisings" I have witnessed from passionate senior developers that stirred up the worst in them and had to leave the company. Some also have chosen to continue to work there with a horrible attitude. I believe that management lacks EQ when is comes to leadership positions but everything is a learning experience and we are all human beings.
