Pros
I have worked at Rational for over four years, and every year that passes has been better than the last. Every team has incredibly knowledgeable and kind individuals - a true strength of this company is the people. The software is remarkable due to its multifaceted nature, and the competitive and fast paced nature of the e-discovery industry makes for some epic collaboration and team development. If you work hard it is always noticed, appreciated, and rewarded. There's no limit to what you can learn here, and if you're interested in a particular area of the application, you always have the opportunity to pursue those interests. Bagel Thursday and the drink fridge is an awesome perk (sorry remote workers), and I can't wait for the awesome happy hours too once Covid is a thing of the past. While work was slow during the worst of Covid, management literally told us to utilize the time to learn something new, or something that we otherwise wouldn't have time for. When some of my friends were losing their jobs or taking pay cuts, Rational was taking the time to go out of their way to advise us that our employment was secure. These are just a couple of the many reasons I'll always be extremely thankful for my employment here. If you ever have the opportunity to work at Rational, I would strongly consider it.
Cons
The health insurance isn't the best if you have others on your plan, but the pay is competitive, so it makes up for it. This isn't so much a Con of Rational, as it is an industry thing. The nature of the work is very complex, and learning exactly what the application does, and why, can take a long time and really requires either years of experience, or client interaction. This can be frustrating for those who tend to want to understand everything quickly.
