Pros

- Lots of exposure to growth opportunities if you proactively position yourself. - Talented employees that enable great on-the-job mentorship opportunities. - Decent benefits & time off

Cons

Since the UTC merger, Raytheon has become shareholder & profit driven. Raytheon is the next Boeing.. - Large siloed organizational structure that stifles innovation and doesn't allow for any flexibility in terms of priority, design, or approach. - There is a fair amount of dead weight that gets passed from program to program and never let go. In the various teams I was a part of, there is undo stress put on the top performers of the team as certain member's underperformance imbalences leaderships perspective on the productivity of the team. The top performers of these teams do not see increased opportunity or salary and can often get stuck in a position because of their capabilities, denying the employee of other opportunities. Retention is especially low among top performers. - Uninformed leadership that often prioritize their image/the program's image over the quality of the product. - Raytheon is comfortable with asking employees to work mandatory overtime & weekends for extended periods of time, upwards of 2 years for the program I was a part of. - Hostile culture, little prior planning from management. The priority is whatever current "fires" are active.

Pros

9/80 and every 2nd Friday off, generous vacation time.

Cons

The company is 100+ years old and functions almost entirely on inertia. Senior Management is totally disconnected from the day to day, and it shows in the content of their "community" video meetings. They talk about diversity but have no interest in applying it. Most of the time they totally ignore the needs of their disabled employees.
