Pros
Technically challenging work and lots of ways to find your niche and add value. Good job security, and easy to move to another program in the company as needed.
Cons
When you start a new program, very poor knowledge transfer and predecessor typically gone already. Room to stand out because management and leadership skills are very poor, and reporting to 8 bosses at once (they call "matrix" but feels more like being a contractor, seldom seeing the supervisor that signs your paychecks) Which was ok until the merger with UTC 4 years ago. Since then, it's a constant management shuffle and constant process changes that are poorly communicated, if at all. Then, after 4 years of talking about "Office of the Future" and promising facility upgrades that never materialized, the latest executive newbie issued an edict that 100% of employees return to the office 5 days a week...regardless of the lack of seating or desk space. Requests for ADA disability accommodations to continue working from home at least some days was rejected (documentation veteran disability status not enough, demands of fresh doctor forms and very rigid process). Needless to say, chaos is the result
