Pros

Work from home (up until recently - seems as though they will be employing an official return to office push in the next month or two). Some really, really, smart people in adjacent functions. Some teams/businesses have their own eco system from a culture and function standpoint and thrive (such as 21 grams). Salary and benefits are competitive (if financial wealth over mental health is more important to you).

Cons

Zero psychological safety, you'll realize the work friends you made are really just the result of "trauma bonding". Horribly toxic culture driven by a CEO who's #1 goal is increasing profitability for an evitable sale in the next year, so expect continual layoffs, feet dragging on resources, thinning of the herd, raises that don't even keep up with inflation and the expectation that you will do more for less until the golden parachutes are deployed for the top leaders at the sale. Caring about people is just a BS talk track that is feed to leadership, (who have no credibility in this area), so 80% of the company is rolling their eyes while the other 20% drinks the kool aid trying to upward manage their career/merit/bonus by nodding in agreement. It's important to note that all the negative reviews tend to have a lot more substance than the positive reviews. How many times as a job seeker do you read the positive reviews and think "gee... that sounds like the company I want to work for!" No... you read the bad ones for the dirt. Well read closely, and notice the "thumbs up" that each bad review gets. Its a sign. The score on glassdoor is a numbers game for recruitment and they aren't shy about asking people to write positive reviews.

Real Chemistry Response

We are focused on building Real Chemistry for the long-term, to have a successful, profitable business where employees can thrive. These things are two sides of the same coin, one cannot be achieved without the other. Your experience is not what any of our leaders endorse. As a professional services business, attracting, retaining and developing engaged people who can deliver valuable and impactful services to our clients is essential. It is also essential that we operate an efficient and financially healthy business that is able to invest in our continued innovation and growth. There are several mechanisms we have for gathering feedback from our employees, including our exit survey and annual engagement survey. We take these very seriously, creating action plans to address any lower scores and holding ourselves accountable to improvement. Our belief is that a data-driven approach to engagement matters – in addition to having caring leaders who can create the right environment for our teams. --Wendy Carhart, Chief Communications, Culture, and Purpose officer

Pros

- none. this company is soul suckingly inefficient and they prefer it that way

Cons

- the most dishonest and toxic work environment that I have ever been a part of - the most unqualified management that I have come across (I have worked across numerous agencies - the work is sketchy at best and clients are grossly over billed. Pressuring employees to over bill clients and trying to force inaccurate or incomplete work through the purposely inefficient review processes is common practice at RC - if you do not over bill your clients your managers will begin to micromanage you in a manner that hints at you not doing enough. - Account teams know nothing about media or advertising and make the most uninformed promises to clients and that media activation is constantly on the hook and being blamed for - they hire very little or no men in general. this place is like a toxic middle school atmosphere, it is truly exhausting to be a part of. - managers will routinely insult you in a way you've never been insulted before at work and nothing will be done about it - information is usually gate kept and teams will prevent you from doing your job while management is asking that you contribute more.
