Pros

Cool clients. Let you choose Mac or PC computer.

Cons

This place is so disorganized every process and team is so disconnected. Every team operates in such siloes and you have to go so out of your way to understand how anything is connected. You probably won’t work with anyone in your location even if you’re in an office, so there is also zero connection between people or among teams. Way too high of expectations for billability. You are expected to do so much internal work, but only allotted two hours a week for it. So to get everything done you are forced to work well over 40 hours. Teams have no respect for boundaries and am constantly getting pinged late at night. People warn their teams weeks in advance of needing to sign off at 6 pm. Also goodluck if you work on the west coast. You are regularly expected to be on calls at 6 am instead of staffing teams based on time zones. Also too much work to even do high quality work. Constantly putting out fire drills, so I can’t dedicate anytime to actually putting thought into my work. Lack of transparency. No company emails when offices are closed or with big layoffs. No one even informs me I am switching accounts or members of our team are leaving until the last possible second. Good initial pay but raises are embarrassing. Had such high expectations for working here based on how they sell themselves, but it is such an awful place. Can’t wait to get out of here.

Real Chemistry Response

Thank you for your honest commentary on where there are opportunities to improve. Your experience is not what we are building for our employees. We do have multiple locations and many teams work across time zones and offices. Since we want to give our people flexibility where they work, this approach won’t change. We will be increasing in-person connectivity for both hybrid and remote workers. The better we are connected and get to know each other, the better we can collaborate and break down barriers. And while collaboration can help improve efficiency, we recognize that the nature of our industry and business does mean longer hours sometimes. That’s why our offerings like flex PTO and no meeting blocks are put in place to help manage the flow of work and allow for well-deserved time off work. --Wendy Carhart, Chief Communications, Culture, and Purpose officer

Pros

- none. this company is soul suckingly inefficient and they prefer it that way

Cons

- the most dishonest and toxic work environment that I have ever been a part of - the most unqualified management that I have come across (I have worked across numerous agencies - the work is sketchy at best and clients are grossly over billed. Pressuring employees to over bill clients and trying to force inaccurate or incomplete work through the purposely inefficient review processes is common practice at RC - if you do not over bill your clients your managers will begin to micromanage you in a manner that hints at you not doing enough. - Account teams know nothing about media or advertising and make the most uninformed promises to clients and that media activation is constantly on the hook and being blamed for - they hire very little or no men in general. this place is like a toxic middle school atmosphere, it is truly exhausting to be a part of. - managers will routinely insult you in a way you've never been insulted before at work and nothing will be done about it - information is usually gate kept and teams will prevent you from doing your job while management is asking that you contribute more.
