Pros

Nice building and decent snacks.

Cons

There are tons of cons at this company. To start, there is no current CEO (only interim) and no CTO. I'd guess they are having trouble finding someone willing to sign up for the chaos. The finance department allowed an acquisition that has gone completely awry. Move was definitely lied to about the company they were acquiring and were sold a bag of goods. Yet the people responsible for acquiring said company are trying to force it to work. Technology teams are not well-equipped and aren't able to adapt to the constant changing 'vision'. Consumer marketing continues to say they are generating high traffic but it isn't resulting in any leads. They keep making bizarre commercials and hype them up without them having any impact on the business. But, everyone keeps looking the other wa. Sales is trying to keep selling, but they were forced to layoff half their work-force in May. On the product side, we just keep re-releasing the same products and aren't encouraged to collaborate or contribute ideas. The leadership is condescending and not honest about the direction we are headed in (or perhaps they don't know the direction at all). Leaders contradict each other and have no ownership.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. You raise a number of concerns, and I hope some of them were addressed during last week’s all company Real Talk. If you missed it, it’s available for replay on Workplace. One of my priorities is more open and transparent communication so please reach out to me. I’d like to schedule some time to talk.

Pros

Great pay and opportunity for advancement if you can get on the right projects that will succeed. For the most part I have the tech I need to do my job and my coworkers are really smart capable people who I learn from every day. I feel challenged in my work and that makes me feel engaged and interested in the problems I solve daily. Flexible vacation time and great benefits.

Cons

It can be incredibly chaotic at times, bordering on toxic. People are on edge and passing blame around like a hot potato. Hierarchy, power plays, and territorial politics create land mines for the unsuspecting on any given project— depending on your team or organization you’ll need to tread lightly to survive. They only hire in Austin right now, so any open roles seem to take a long time to fill, but the work still piles on.
