Pros
The break room usually has free snacks. Sometimes there's company catering, and maybe a team event or two. And the pay rate can be considered high. Plus, you're free to decorate your work station. The Courtyard Marriott's cafe, which is about a 10 min walk away, is fantastic.
Cons
One trainer in particular was short-tempered, irritable and by-the-book. The morale on the floor is constantly low, unless you're observing the chatty cliques created by the management. Bathroom policy is much too severe for men and women alike-you're penalized for having medical ordeals by forcing the call queue to come before your needs. Stomach hurts? Are you sick? Oh well-your bathroom time's coming out of your break time. Too bad. The queue's more important. Have to answer those calls first. The Lead Line either takes too long to answer, or the answers you receive are flippant. Which can scare away call center newbies. Management excuses it away by saying 'some of the leads are jusy like that', but call center newbies may find it too intimidating. Promises were never fulfilled to my training class. Unless you live 10-15 minutes away from the office, the high pay is offset by traffic, maintenance and gas costs. Plus, you're going through painful traffic just to talk to some of the rudest, dumbest people on the face of the earth. THIS COMMUTE IS DEFINITELY NOT FOR BUS RIDERS. If you clock in a minute late, you're hit with a 15 minute penalty. Regardless of whether it was an accident or not. Managers have a strong tendency to nitpick. An agent was harassed by a manager for using the word 'cool'. Something he naturally said. Then if you're a minute late from break or lunch, management will let you know. Ad nauseum. 30 minute lunches are not compatible with the area's fast food locations; Popeye's and McDonald's are at least a 10 min drive away. Then consider everyone else going to those locations on lunch. The bathroom policy does NOT extend any courtesy towards any medical issues of any kind, had by anyone of any gender.
