Pros

Surrounded by some of the best talent I've ever seen in a work environment in my career. Ability to actually help people and maintain their account. Occasional food, but it's really Ramen Noodles Cups and Chex Mix.. Still free though if customer service doesn't eat it all. At one point money was quite insane some people easily pulling in 25k commission checks a month. Built Campaigns to make your life easy. A "general ease"'of a sales call. If you've done other B2B sales and you've had to break Gate Keepers before you'd understand the ease comment. To dial their cell phones and the receptionists just willingly transfer you to them is a dream. On a rare circumstance you'll have gems of sales advise given by the Senior Director of Sales and in many ways your basically saving monies cause it's directly out of the training it was given from. So heaps of knowledge to inherit. I can say that I'm a better salesman since I've been here. That's a Pro if nothing else. There has been a flicker of hope in some management wanting to change things internally. Let's hope that fire isn't extinguished. It's refreshing to see. I love my Job some days and the people Around me are part of my happiness. Realtor.com holds strong brand recognition and that's nice because the brand itself is Better for agents. That's one amazing part of every call is they know this. Makes for easier break through questions.

Cons

Convoluted Management with mixed receptors. They lack a "unified" front. Their go to excuse usually is "what would you like me to do, or I'll get back to you on this" not a way to help those actually seeking a resolution and or solution. Granted some people are complaining because it makes them feel good. Compensation and Achievement of money has taken a turn for the worse. Pay out and Kickers are unifying with a devilish increase of metrics. While, finally, the curtain has been pulled back with the potential to earn again they've now input measurements to secure a huge portion, including the top performers, will not achieve the highest pay out. Either Realtor.com/Move has over hired and or is hurting or this is typical Sales 101 to decrease our earnings to better the company. Disconnection and Sharkey behavior. Anyone whose been here will know the name "inbound" it's like a name of evil. There are effectively 3-4 Teams selling against you and given Books or Business of "yours" to call and sell. They will tell your customers they're your assistant and they will say you'll be compensated so your clients no matter their loyalty will buy and you only get 20%. Books are moved so frequently I couldn't tell you who is my book so trying to prevent this comes to near impossible. Production of the Product is fairly bad, agents are 80/20 by definition and the lot of the people want perfection and unrealism so you're the criminal since they bought leads and you provided them with "crap" regardless of the production. High Turn over, Lack of Internal Culture. Inability to move internally in the company outside of sales management. Sad, cause if you're smart and wanting your option is to sell and stress for how ever long and then just maybe you can be a Sales Manager and now take retention calls as your reward. Say it again, High Turn over disorganized Management and a broken system of promotion and acknowledgment. Sorry, millennials are the next work force. Hate it or Love it. The longest tenure on the sales floor is 2 years most are under 6-9months. That should give you a inside view. Btw, 6 months is considered senior. Integration issues arise when many of the people are not technical savvy and we sell a Cloud Base Lead generation. If you were a manager of a retail furniture store and never took classes of tech fine, but in IT type sales it's hard, very hard to listen to the blind train the blind. Because if we are seeking solutions and our management reverts to fear and half way answered solutions it creates a jaded perception. The hardest thing to watch is the placement of people whom are obviously addicted to drugs be on our floor and in some cases acting illegally both to clients and office members. I think it's fantastic to give all people a chance but sometimes it's not cost effective or ethical to do so. Dangerous.

Pros

Great pay and opportunity for advancement if you can get on the right projects that will succeed. For the most part I have the tech I need to do my job and my coworkers are really smart capable people who I learn from every day. I feel challenged in my work and that makes me feel engaged and interested in the problems I solve daily. Flexible vacation time and great benefits.

Cons

It can be incredibly chaotic at times, bordering on toxic. People are on edge and passing blame around like a hot potato. Hierarchy, power plays, and territorial politics create land mines for the unsuspecting on any given project— depending on your team or organization you’ll need to tread lightly to survive. They only hire in Austin right now, so any open roles seem to take a long time to fill, but the work still piles on.
