Pros

* You get a decent laptop and the laptop renewal policy is nice * If you are lucky, you can get your hands on interesting technologies * If you are lucky, you can even get a proper manager who actually cares * Typically awesome colleagues * Depending on the team, there is a lot of freedom to do whatever you want

Cons

* Everything depends on the team you land in, it's all over the place when it comes to experience * For a company preaching open-source, Red Hat uses quite a lot of proprietary software and introduces new ones, hardly "lead by example" * All decisions are top-down, so-called Open Decision Framework is a joke, nobody cares about employees' opinions * SJWs are running the place slowly introducing more and more leftist non-sense, Red Hat became very political in the last year * Salaries below average (apparently no matter what location), management deliberately ignores all the voices asking about this, you only get promises. Then they are surprised people are leaving. * Communication is a problem, both across teams and management levels * IBM acquisition
