Pros
When you step through the door, you will go from being the Big Nerd on Campus to possibly feeling downright dumb. Like "how did I ever get hired here"? The great part is that you're now part of an honest to goodness community that wants to help you succeed. The "open culture" that you're scoffing at right now is the real deal inside of Red Hat. If you are willing to learn, the opportunities are pretty endless. I'm also a remote employee and that's working out well...Red Hat does that piece right.
Cons
Not a company for people who need someone holding their hands to get things done. There's collaboration and then there's being dead weight. If you need constant supervision or have a thin skin, this might not be the place for you.
