Pros

Red Robin was a great place to work part time while I was in school. I can't think of too many other jobs with the scheduling flexibility that we were offered for a college student. The pay was great as well. I really liked the fact that everyone that worked there were all about the same age. This made it easy to form bonds and really enjoy your time there. The shifts seemed to fly by since we were often very busy. Management was also very flexible in how we could create our schedules. I can't think of a day that I tried to get off that I didn't

Cons

Even with all the positives of Red Robin, there are a few negative factors. One thing that I hated was that we had to be on call. Basically you wouldn't know if you were working or not until up to the very last minute. This made it hard to plan things with friends, because you had to base your entire day around the possibility of working. Sometimes you would work the morning shift and be on call for the night shift and get called in for the night shift. You would end up working about 13 hours with just a small little lunch break. It basically ruined your day.

Pros

Having a handheld order system that you can take orders on next to the table makes everything go much faster but has a BIG learning curve The culture is good, people are always running your food and it really does feel more like a team than a lot of server jobs Ive worked You can make good money on busy nights and sections are large / they are decently good about cutting too many servers

Cons

Management expects a lot from servers, which is understandable, but there is a lot of pressure on upsell and reviews Tips can be very random depending on day and time of day A lot of the logistics are easier bc of Red Robin policy (using table-side ordering/others running food) but because of this you have much bigger sections
