Pros

Opportunity for growth expanded learning and interdepartmental movement if desired. I have seen people be promoted from Labor positions to Regional Market managers. I work at the home office in Dallas, and if you know your stuff and apply your skill diligently, trust and autonomy with guiderails will be extended with little to no micromanaging. There are ample opportunities to take lead on projects or be the SME behind the scenes. Good benefits start day 1. Fabulous and effective wellness benefits built into health plan. Great people and leaders who care about their team.

Cons

401k match could be a little better but is on par with industry.

Pros

None. This was one of the most significant professional mistakes I’ve made.

Cons

Reddy Ice is an absolute masterclass in corporate gaslighting. The "leadership" here operates with a level of hubris and self-preservation that is frankly staggering. They have successfully convinced their PE owners that they run a "lean, reliable" operation, while the reality is a decaying "run-to-failure" infrastructure held together by jargon and duct tape. The arrogance at the top is off the charts. They insulate themselves with "flavor-of-the-month" leadership books and annual Kaizen events—performative theater designed to mask the fact that they have a 95% annual turnover rate. They know the numbers, yet they do nothing because their priority isn't people or quality; it’s ego and optics. Promotions are based on raw manufacturing volume, meaning "leaders" are chosen for their ability to grind out bags of ice, not for their ability to actually manage human beings. The HR department is a total embarrassment—a group of uneducated individuals who lack even a basic understanding of professional standards or employee advocacy. Furthermore, having seen the inside of these plants, I can say with certainty that the lack of hygiene and operational integrity is a travesty. I wouldn't let a friend or family member consume their product, let alone work there.
