Pros

Coffee machine and bathrooms with toilet paper. Ummm...chairs, couches, electricity, interesting art on the walls. Hmmmm......that's all I can think of.

Cons

Just laid almost everyone off. Senior management is a really tight clique and no one is allowed in. They also do not promote from within very often and they do not pay overtime OR give comp time. They have no idea how a proper studio should be managed and run, too bad none of them never worked in the real world of VFX at a studio or other VFX company in LA...etc.... too bad they never asked any of us from other real studios how things were run-we may have been able to help them...a lot. However, I must say it was better than any movie I have ever seen on how to do things, all things, related to running a VFX company wrong. It was truly a "Laverne and Shirley" or "Dumb and Dumber" situation after I stopped caring, it was funny to sit back and watch them do almost everything wrong. I wish my department had popcorn, it was a s#€t show for sure!

Pros

Reel FX offers a range of roles from getting your foot in the door to the industry to working with directors creating feature film animations. While I was there, everyone I worked with were the most wonderful and talented people I’ve ever met.

Cons

I don’t contribute this to Reel FX, but the industry as a whole is pretty volatile

Pros

People are mostly nice and welcoming. Some truly talented artists to learn from. It's a good place to gain some experience

Cons

The company as a whole seems to lack a clear direction and focus
