Pros

The people. The projects are fun to work on depending on which one you are on. The longer contracts are competitive and most feature animation studios don’t offer that.

Cons

Some projects aren’t great. A few supervisors are difficult to work with and tend to play favorites with their friends. Your first week isn’t as informative as it could be, it would be good to have clearer guidance there.

Pros

Reel FX offers a range of roles from getting your foot in the door to the industry to working with directors creating feature film animations. While I was there, everyone I worked with were the most wonderful and talented people I’ve ever met.

Cons

I don’t contribute this to Reel FX, but the industry as a whole is pretty volatile
