Pros

- You will work with some talented and friendly fellow artists - Dallas is not a bad city if you don't have to live in a city known for being hip

Cons

Get everything negotiated for in writing in a legal, binding, contract. Artist management is known for going back on promises made during recruiting discussions. Everything written prior about the ol' boys network is true. Senior supervisors have spent much/most/all of their careers here and are totally clueless with how the industry has progressed. Their pipeline is woefully 10 years out of date, and they don't want any input from new hires to try to improve things. I think they are afraid of actually looking bad by newer people and that these people will be promoted above them. Or at least people will begin to wonder "Why is he in charge?" They don't know what they don't know, and sadly this holds back a company that could offer a viable alternative to those artists looking for an alternative to working/living in more expensive cities around the world.

Pros

Reel FX offers a range of roles from getting your foot in the door to the industry to working with directors creating feature film animations. While I was there, everyone I worked with were the most wonderful and talented people I’ve ever met.

Cons

I don’t contribute this to Reel FX, but the industry as a whole is pretty volatile

People are mostly nice and welcoming. Some truly talented artists to learn from. It's a good place to gain some experience

Cons

The company as a whole seems to lack a clear direction and focus
