Pros

Senior Management/Leadership still cares deeply about the science and the patients. Anyone can email them. I believe their hearts are in the right place. The benefits and salary are good. There are several ways your salary is supplemented; you can get positive reviews from coworkers and stakeholders with a small cash bonus attached, and there is a nice bonus at the end of the year. There are still stock options, although those are not nearly as valuable as they used to be, Regeneron gives out Restricted Stock now. Some areas have a great culture, it flows from your local patron, aka immediate upper management. If they are generous, you will have a great life. Some areas have a lot of opportunity to learn new job functions and flex your problem solving skills. Of course the flip side of this is a bit of chaos. I happen to like the less-structured parts of the company better as they are more responsive and flexible. Tarrytown is a beautiful facility where you can see the science at work. And the scientists are still doing great work. There is still the ability to innovate here and learn, especially if you land in the right place. I really believe in what the company does; we are definitely helping patients and making the world a better place in concrete ways.

Cons

Directors, Sr Directors, Exec Directors, Assoc Directors and above are constantly growing their court and hiring their friends. No matter how hard you work, you'll never know why you didn't get that promotion, because the process and metrics are both secret and subjective. Expect to be demoralized at review time as you are told for the 5th time that you're an amazing asset, just keep working and it'll happen eventually. Oh and by the way, meet your new boss. Approximately 70% of the company is millennials, and the company spends a lot of time on pep rallies and virtue signaling to them instead of devoting that time our highest goal; medicines for patients. HR has the joy and helpfulness of a leper colony. Our last VP of HR was disappeared due to having relations with his staff. The new one bangs on in all-company meetings about how we definitely have too many white people in the company. There is no respect for confidentiality, as stated in multiple reviews here, and no hiding their disinterest in assisting those under director level. You should worry about expressing unorthodox opinions at Regeneron, because a lot of other people do. In fact, forming an employee interest group based on critiquing any of Regeneron's policies is explicitly forbidden. As an example of our toxic HR policy: a colleague I know was fired recently after over 10 years with the company... in a group meeting with other people who were also fired. What kind of a nasty HR apparatus does this?

Pros

Good pay and benefits. Flexibility of work hours.

Cons

If you're in the wrong group, it's a struggle to get autonomy even when you ask for more oversight of a group or project because micromanaging is an issue. I feel trapped where I am and growth has been stagnant. They also hold a mistake against you for years. Management afraid to give constructive criticism.
