Pros

Most left when the former regime parted ways for various reasons in 2016. With that, Regent lost much of its SME which made the company and product line such a compelling company to work with. Current CEO is a competent leader but neglects to act upon the issues that continue to haunt Regent in a meaningful way that will enhance and stabilize product development and implementation services.

Cons

Product instability, too many customers face bad experience as the come close to the finish line of an extensive product implementation cycle. Implementation are too long, commonly exceeding the the implementation plans by months. Customer requirement during the implementation cycles are to demanding, specifically related to data migration into an unstable product. Product line is to narrow due to a lack of PD efforts in part due to PD having limited resources to put out the ongoing customer related issues. This translates into a lack of sales leads to what is already a limited market.

Pros

• The flexibility of working remotely • The people are some of the most intelligent and supportive individuals I’ve ever worked with! • The diverse set of Regent products and all the continuous improvement to these products through the software development lifecycle. • Appreciate for and development of my skillset. • Being a part of a real team!

Cons

• Allow 15-minute allocations between meetings for employees to decompress – back-to-back meetings were not ideal

Pros

100% Remote. Some roles require travel.

Cons

I will start with health care, its not the greatest be prepared to have out of pocket expenses regularly, also what you pay monthly is high so having high out of pocket expenses are not a pro. Next I will discuss training, there is a lack of training, you will not be trained on the ins and outs of the system and how to use it, hence this hinders you from being able to do your job well and your supervisor will act like you should know how to do your job and how to do it well. No one can do their job well if you do not learn their system. The turn over rate is horrendous, seems like people are hired and then let go once big projects and releases conclude so I would not say this is not a place of longevity, those at the top will be the ones who remain long term. You will feel like you are over worked, to be honest its not a matter of being over worked its due to the lack of training so you will spend time feeling very lost. The schools who use the product have a ton of issues so there is a lot of tickets, theres a lot of non-financial aid staff working financial aid matters, those at the company who have a financial aid background have not worked in a actual school is school a long time so they are out of touch. The staff that was new staff and had the financial aid experience were not utilized well at all. From a developer stand point there is not enough staff that can handle the amount of tickets that come in therefore many schools have to wait a long time to get their issues resolved. That is my honest review during my time there.
