Pros

A few of the other PRN therapy staff members were very welcoming and offered to help when they heard I was new.

Cons

I was hired for PRN work. I took my first shift, and weeks later, wondered where my paycheck was. After contacting my supervisor, she discovered that the person in charge of submitting timesheets failed to do so, so my shift was never recorded. I did wait until I received my check before taking another shift. After my second shift at a different location, I again ended up with no paycheck weeks later. It was difficult to get in contact with my supervisor. She finally looked into the matter, discovered what the reason was this time, and mailed my paycheck. I have worked for other large corporations before (in retail, not healthcare) and have NEVER been not paid for doing my job! I was appalled. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice shame on me. I did not go back after that. In addition, the company required unethical and unreasonable productivity rates of 85% for PRN staff and 90% for regular staff. This is terrible for the patients AND for the staff!

Pros

Almost everyone is friendly. This company has treated me better than any company I worked for since I became a PTA. This company seems more fair and ethical than most of the companies I worked for as a PTA. The nursing home employees get along better with the RehabCare employees than I have seen when a different rehab company was providing the rehab workers at a nursing home.

Cons

Census level changes quickly and often. Since I am PRN that means many of my shifts are cancelled or cut short. There is usually not much notice. The locations that need my help tend to be 10-22 miles from home. Occasionally I work at some farther than that. The company is disorganized. There are many error in the programs on our iPads and delays in getting certain types of pay on our paychecks. I do trust the company to try to correct these errors. We are paid only twice a month. The company is overly concerned with productivity. The employees who have benefits say they are not good.
