Pros

Incredibly talented group of people. Great culture. Work hard, play hard. Collaborative feel throughout the company. Excellent training budget and programs offered to all employees. Health care benefits getting better over the years. Cool end of the year holiday break. Highly productive environment. No place to hide for poor performers...which is a very refreshing change from most companies. The core values provide a nice blueprint on how to be successful at kCura. CEO is a charismatic leader and is passionate about the company and the product....perhaps sometimes to a fault.

Cons

Company finally instituted work from home policy but still fairly restrictive. Tremendous emphasis placed on co-location. Internal tools for defect tracking, agile development, and HR systems are lacking as they are stubbornly built on top of the proprietary and ill-fitted eDiscovery software. At times it feels like we're all on a hamster wheel, never really taking a breather. I hope all these talented people don't burn out.

Pros

Free Lunch on Wednesdays Solid Benefits Good pay for new hires

Cons

The flexible work week doesn't actually exist. It's an excuse to require some employees to work more than the 40 hour work week. Chicago employees are required to go into the office at least 2 days a week, even if rest of the team is remote. My specific team is without clear direction or leadership. Performative corporate jargon is rewarded over meaningful contributions. Existing employees are paid significantly less than new hires. At least on my team, there have been differences of $20 to $30K in annual salary for the same level.
