Pros

Your coworkers in the department are smart and are will always be willing to help if they have time. The training period is free pay to learn a software. Good company holiday parties.

Cons

The pay is no where near what's appropriate for the knowledge and expertise required to perform the actual job well Their use of metrics to heavily monitor employee performance is primarily used to give small meaningless awards to high performers, and to deny raises and promotions from everyone else You will be constantly performing what is considered "unsupported work". This means you will be asked to do the job of SQL DBA for example, Relativity will bill the client an hourly rate that's 10x your pay rate, and you will receive nothing for performing tasks far outside of your role. All the common cons of being in support for a large company. Insufferable tech culture filled with company all hands where the executives all congratulate each other The teams are constantly understaffed due to high churn and poor planning by management

Pros

Free Lunch on Wednesdays Solid Benefits Good pay for new hires

Cons

The flexible work week doesn't actually exist. It's an excuse to require some employees to work more than the 40 hour work week. Chicago employees are required to go into the office at least 2 days a week, even if rest of the team is remote. My specific team is without clear direction or leadership. Performative corporate jargon is rewarded over meaningful contributions. Existing employees are paid significantly less than new hires. At least on my team, there have been differences of $20 to $30K in annual salary for the same level.
