Pros

Relativity is overall a great place to work. Market leading product. Solid benefits. Unlimited time off. Brilliant people. If you want to put in the work at Relativity it will absolutely be a place that changes the trajectory of your career. The company has a really great community engagement program and it’s easy to feel good about the tech Relativity makes and how it gives back along the way. The leadership team is really strong. Some different personalities but I’m convinced they’re all good, smart people who want the best for the organization and employees. You’ll also make great friends from all over the world.

Cons

Lower pay was always balanced by other benefits like unlimited PTO. Return to office (2 days a week for those who didn’t or couldn’t move from the office area) really destabilizes those types of equations. Your experience will depend - like most jobs - on your manager. Now that they can only recruit from areas where we have offices it will reduce the talent pool dramatically. Being able to hire from anywhere in the U.S. raised the bar so much. Also there’s still a lot of bad behavior that is rewarded. They’ve cracked down on underperformance over the years. But people who don’t live up to the core values, make life more difficult for people, etc. are kept around.

Pros

Free Lunch on Wednesdays Solid Benefits Good pay for new hires

Cons

The flexible work week doesn't actually exist. It's an excuse to require some employees to work more than the 40 hour work week. Chicago employees are required to go into the office at least 2 days a week, even if rest of the team is remote. My specific team is without clear direction or leadership. Performative corporate jargon is rewarded over meaningful contributions. Existing employees are paid significantly less than new hires. At least on my team, there have been differences of $20 to $30K in annual salary for the same level.
