Pros

It feels like a growing family; we work hard and are moving fast all the time, but people care about their work, about you as a person and genuinely look forward to working with each other The work is really interesting and our clients truly benefit from our services; we're not just selling another piece of unnecessary software There's a lot of trust and respect among peers and between manager to employee

Cons

Because we are growing fast, it's sometimes hard to keep the connection between groups. We're going to need to beef up our cross-functional education in order to keep people up to speed with what their colleagues are doing in real-time

Pros

Free Lunch on Wednesdays Solid Benefits Good pay for new hires

Cons

The flexible work week doesn't actually exist. It's an excuse to require some employees to work more than the 40 hour work week. Chicago employees are required to go into the office at least 2 days a week, even if rest of the team is remote. My specific team is without clear direction or leadership. Performative corporate jargon is rewarded over meaningful contributions. Existing employees are paid significantly less than new hires. At least on my team, there have been differences of $20 to $30K in annual salary for the same level.
