Pros

The best part about working for Relias is definitely the culture and people. Everyone is young, intelligent, and friendly. The office is very laid back and many departments offer flexible work times as well as work from home options. The RLMS is easy to use and is a truly great product. They are also big on employee health initiatives and give multiple opportunities throughout the year to earn extra cash by participating in sports or other health events as well as giving free fruit.

Cons

Pay/benefits is below the industry average and because of that turnover is very high within the company, they also seem to be increasingly using interns to fill the roles of what should be salaried employees. Because turnover is so high, frequently a lot of industry and product knowledge is lost when a person leaves. Communications between departments is often very poor and combined with the high turnover rates and frequent acquisitions the right hand often doesn't know what the left is doing. Promotion from within is something that is highly touted but often not followed through. To be fair to Relias they have added some paths to receive moderate pay bumps for some positions, but starting pay remains low. My position I would give 2/5 stars. We were a new division of Relias that has extremely little oversight or thoughtful planning with minimal resources (if any) expended on us. Our manager has virtually no knowledge of the product we sell, provides no sales development or training, and is absent from work half of the year on personal matters. Because of a lack of territories, salespeople are better off becoming friends with other departments to ensure they get the easy big pass downs directly to them circumventing the lead distribution process. This sort of behavior seems to be at times actively encouraged by the manager, which causes major resentment among the team that actually follow the rules. Overall I would say Relias is a good place to work for 1-2 years before moving on to another company that is better developed and offers more competitive compensation.

Pros

Amazing corporate culture Leadership listened to engineering on tools, technology stack, etc Actual product ownership, including necessary input and control (instead of being told you own a product and then not given the necessary access or tools to maintain it)

Cons

Hiring process involved psychological screening with a lot of implicit bias, almost like an IQ test. On the plus side, I've been told they discontinued its use after that was pointed out.

Pros

Some of the peers met.

Cons

You have to be a "yes" person. It is not about your productivity or tenure. The organization celebrates the money-makers. They romanticize a false sense of community. They celebrate the coffee shop with a zombie like fixation. It doesn't detract from the underlying problems of management being out of touch with employees. Their inability to read the room has been present for a while. They failed to see during Covid that it takes more than food, drink and "community" when the fact of the matter was that it only showed lack of trust in their employees. Team meetings consist of a manager who is incapable of reigning in meetings that devolve into nonsense and wasted time. Obvious bias exists as there are clear favorites on the team, and their ideas are more readily accepted and heard. Comments as to appearance lead to obvious preference and isolation of other team members. Now that DEI is thing of the past and everyone is trying to navigate it smoothly, Relias proceeds to post the whitest President’s Club photo ever. It’s completely tone-deaf. They continue to make decisions that may seem to make sense at the top but have no relevance or need when it comes to employees.
