Pros

There are some very smart and talented individuals at Relias and the work atmosphere is laid back. Relias has good content and the company is in the growing industry of E-learning.

Cons

Because Relias was acquired by a large German company they promised a level of growth (not acquisition based) that is not realistic at this time. They fail to take all variables into consideration. The result of Relias being a mishmash of several companies is that the technology is woefully outdated and the systems are not easily compatible with each other. Also, Relias does not have the customer intelligence or brand name recognition they need to grow as fast as they would like. The content (classes) cannot be produced fast enough if they are not added by acquisition and many classes are removed without a replacement in place.

Thanks for giving us the feedback. Definitely some smart and talented people here. That's for sure. The e-learning industry is also growing and all signs point to that continuing which is great for us. With Healthy Debate being one of our cornerstone attributes we know it's something we need to be great at. We don't think we're there yet but we know it's getting better and better. The senior leadership team at Relias is aware that it still needs improvement and it's something they continue to talk about. Thanks again for the review. We appreciate it.

Pros

Amazing corporate culture Leadership listened to engineering on tools, technology stack, etc Actual product ownership, including necessary input and control (instead of being told you own a product and then not given the necessary access or tools to maintain it)

Cons

Hiring process involved psychological screening with a lot of implicit bias, almost like an IQ test. On the plus side, I've been told they discontinued its use after that was pointed out.

The strategic direction is unclear for many parts of the business. There is not enough transparency around hiring decisions - including who is still with the company and where there are opportunities for growth.
