Pros

1) travel benefits on many airlines 2) variety in work day 3) once you build up seniority, you can work less hours/part-time schedule 4) you can be based in smaller regional airports such as Columbus Ohio 5) it's not a typical 5 day Mon Fri work week so once you build up seniority, each month you can choose days you prefer to work e.g. mon to Wed & Saturday or Thurs through Sunday

Cons

An 8 hour shift can turn into a 14 hour shift due to weather delays. If you do not live in your base, commuting (flying) to work can be exhausting. You do not get paid when the door is open e.g. during boarding; deplaning; delays. This brings down hourly rate of pay.
