Pros

Flexible schedules, no weekends unless you volunteer for OT on Saturday, very friendly atmosphere, hip music that plays throughout the floor, allowed to have cellphones on your desk, as long as you're being productive!! Great location in Chandler Az around the Chandler Mall and other restaurants and stores. Caring staff above anything I've ever experienced. Benefits are phenomenal compared to my last employer PayPal and I was able to come back to my job here at Republic after getting sick during training. When they say this is a family, they actually mean it and I'm not much of a family oriented person, so this is something that shocks me that they care so much about me personally! Lunch breaks are 45 minutes instead of the standard 30 minutes. Movable desks that allow you to stand or sit while taking calls.

Cons

Too much role playing during training, group activities and presentations. I am quiet I don't like being in front of people speaking or teaching back to the class the modules we learn. Not allow to eat small snacks at our desks unless its hard candy like jolly ranchers, starburst etc. Cliques amongst coworkers but not extremely H.S. No separate sick time, no floating holidays, just PTO

Pros

Great place to work at.

Cons

Not many cons I could think of besides the work hours.

Pros

The pay is competitive, especially with overtime opportunities, and there is strong potential to earn a solid income for employees willing to work hard. The job also provides steady work and consistent hours, which can be valuable for drivers looking for financial stability.

Cons

The work/life balance for roll-off drivers can be difficult, particularly when working weekends. Drivers are often scheduled in a way that keeps hours under 60 while still requiring Saturday work, rather than being given an additional recovery day during the week. With the level of physical labor involved, one day off is often not enough to properly recover. There is also a heavy emphasis on “swinging” containers. While swings can make sense when locations are far apart, many are scheduled for stops that are very close together and provide little operational benefit. Swings add significantly more physical labor for drivers and, in some cases, can actually take longer than traditional service methods. Over time, consistently working 55–60 hour weeks under these conditions can lead to fatigue and burnout.
