Pros

Pay is good, benefits are good.

Cons

Managers/Supervisors have no clue in what they are doing.   I do not understand how they give managers positions that they have no experience in. The management gossips to no end, but you will get written up if you do. The management also talks, and belittles their employees to other employees. If you are not a "KA" person you will get no where in Republic, high turn over rate, treat employees disrespectfully, managers will lie and make up false complaints to get rid of employee to cover up their own behinds. Republic works you long and hard, and they do not care if you have a family or not. Managers, do not have their employees back, when things go wrong, and the employees are the first to be blamed when the managers "Messed Up", managers do not take ownership of anything. When you work there you are afraid if you will be term, weekly. Employees hate to come to work. When you go to HR to complain, they do not do anything, they do not listen to the employee, they just tell you to get your thoughts together and come back in a few days.... which never happens. They do not pay the drivers right, they under pay drivers, and the calculations of overtime is so illegal it is not even funny. This was only a few things.... I have a whole list. Don Slager thinks he to good to talk to you, when you see him in the halls, he just another "High Price CEO that doesn't do a DARN thing"

Pros

The pay is competitive, especially with overtime opportunities, and there is strong potential to earn a solid income for employees willing to work hard. The job also provides steady work and consistent hours, which can be valuable for drivers looking for financial stability.

Cons

The work/life balance for roll-off drivers can be difficult, particularly when working weekends. Drivers are often scheduled in a way that keeps hours under 60 while still requiring Saturday work, rather than being given an additional recovery day during the week. With the level of physical labor involved, one day off is often not enough to properly recover. There is also a heavy emphasis on “swinging” containers. While swings can make sense when locations are far apart, many are scheduled for stops that are very close together and provide little operational benefit. Swings add significantly more physical labor for drivers and, in some cases, can actually take longer than traditional service methods. Over time, consistently working 55–60 hour weeks under these conditions can lead to fatigue and burnout.
