Shady and illegal - Community Support Specialist Resident Employee Review

ILLEGAL. My team lead did not like me, to the point that they started faking performance reviews attributing others mistake to me. The first few times I brought it to their attention. Then I started taking screenshots instead because I saw where it was going. The day came in which I was going to get my walking papers. I went to HR with my evidence. They did fire the manager in question on the spot, but then blatantly lied to me. The HR person said well, we still have to let you go as you are a 1099 contractor and as a business decision all contractors are being let go. The thing is, other contractors remained.
