Pros
Working as a Resident Manager at RLC had its ups and downs. On the positive side, the corporate office was supportive, and co-workers were great. Saving money was possible.
Cons
However, the compensation was inadequate for the actual 72-hour workweek, including on-call hours. Managerial authority was limited, and the promised occupancy bonus seemed unattainable. The role impacted our lifestyle negatively, resembling "indentured servitude." Manager retention was low, and there was no extra pay for taking on multiple positions. Resources were constrained, and marketing support was lacking. This position might be suitable for those who need the money and free housing but be cautious about its toll on your well-being. Ultimately, starting our own business provided more control over work-life balance.
